Want to know what’s even better? You can whip up this smoothie bowl in five minutes flat, so there’s no excuse not to eat a healthy and delicious breakfast!

Chai Apple Pie Smoothie Bowl
Yield: 1 serving
Prep: 5 min

1 apple with skin, core removed, chopped into medium-size pieces
1 peeled banana, sliced and frozen
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons dry oats
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
2 tablespoons pecans, chopped
2 tablespoons low-added-sugar granola

Place chopped apple, frozen banana slices, Greek yogurt, oats and spices in a high-powered blender, then blend, increasing power gradually, and using tamper device as needed, until smooth.

Pour smoothie into a bowl and top with chopped pecans and granola before serving.

Notes: Use a sweet apple, such as a Honeycrisp or Fuji, for the sweetest taste. If you are making this in the morning, freeze your banana slices the night before, so they will be ready to go. The smoothie will be on the thinner side, but the flavor is more concentrated this way. If you prefer a thicker smoothie, add ice when blending, as desired. Use gluten-free oats and granola for a gluten-free version.
